Chana and all the people at SARET run an incredible organization to support people in need right here in our own community.
Chana has one of the biggest hearts I have known, and she walks her talk. She puts her compassion into action, which is a force beyond... I frequent her store to buy gifts for friends and family. You will feel oh so good about your purchase there, as the jewelry is high quality for a very reasonable price and the bonus of helping our neighbors will count as your random act of kindness for the day...

I've been a board member at Saret Charitable Fund for many years. Saret depends solely on donations and its store, which opened 3 years ago, would be a topic of great interest to your viewers. The founder of Saret, Chana Bernstein, is a miracle worker to so many people and has been a dedicated voice for the homeless families, single mothers through her writings, editorials, and networking with other agencies to get things done.
The store is a delight to the eyes with the massive inventory of beautiful pieces of jewelry made by disabled and displaced women who have fallen on hard times and are learning the art of beading, earning income, receiving services, and making the concept of Made in America.
Please pay our Store a visit and give it all the attention it deserves. I'm sure if people are made aware of "Treasures of Hope", Saret could survive these economically hard times and hence help more of the needy.
Respectfully Dagmar Grunwald, Saret Board member
I have been a customer of Saret since I discovered their original store by Dominick's Food on Roosevelt Road in Glen Ellyn.
Saret has been my go to place for all my jewerly gift purchases over the years, although I believe I have purchased as much for myself as I have given to friends and family. Saret has always had a wonderful selection with a variety of earrings, necklaces and bracelets. I have always found something I can be proud to ship to my sister in California or give to my daughter or one of her friends. It only makes it more special when I know the proceeds go to such a worthy cause.
I love original jewerly but hate to pay some of the prices I see at craft fairs for quality pieces. Every time I am in Saret the staff of volunteers are always helpful in finding that right gift or to help match pieces or say the word and they step aside and encourage you to take your time browsing the store.
I am also a regular in buying their wonderful filtered reuseable water bottles made of a biodegradable corn product. I usually always have one with me in the car around town, on the train going to work and the softball field watching my daughter's team.
I hate seeing every month that Saret might not be there the next time I need a gift or just want something special for myself. They have been able to do so many wonderful things for some very needy families. I wish my budget allowed me to shop there and contribute more often. I hope and pray that those who can continue to support such a wonderful store and all the wonderful things they do will continue to do so and the word continues to spread of this charitable gem in Glen Ellyn.
Thank you,

I wanted to make you aware of Saret Charitable Fund, a wonderful grass- roots charity located in the western suburb of Glen Ellyn, Il. This charity is run by a small core of volunteers, and President Chana Bernstein.
Their retail store, "Saret Treasures of Hope", operates at 449 N. Main Street ,Glen Ellyn, Il., where sales of items such as jewelry, clothing and health products help support people who "fall through the cracks" of regular charities.
Saret steps in and helps people, providing food, clothing and other essentials. It provides donated used cars for people who otherwise have no way of getting to their jobs. It helps homeless people in all walks of life get into temporary housing and to find jobs.
Saret also employs a small group of physically challenged needy people who have been taught to make beautiful and interesting beaded jewelery, which is then sold through the store. Funds donated by compassionate supporters keep the charity running, but in this time of economic hardship, the going is tough. Donations and sales in the store are sorely needed to keep the Saret Charitable Fund solvent.
When I was a school social worker in the suburbs, I luckily found the Saret Charitable Fund. Year after year, this charity helped many families on my caseload when we had exhausted all other avenues of charitable assistance.
Thank you, Barbara Holmes, MSW.
I've been shopping at the SARET Treasures of Hope store since it opened at its original location. Going there is out of my way, but I've enjoyed looking at the great selection of beautiful jewelry and natural, organic products. Many of my friends and my boss own SARET jewelry as do I. The service is great and so are the prices. Now it is even better because natural stones and crystal are used to make the jewelry. This has energetic effects that are good for us. And I like to help people help those in need, which is what SARET is all about. Eva Gaibertohoff
I love the Saret Treasures of Hope store. It supports some very needy people in our county. There are wonderful, unique items at very reasonable prices. Last Christmas, I brought my 2 grandsons to the store to get their mother Christmas gifts. For my 50th high school reunion, I purchased 11 bowls made from long playing records. We put candy from our generation in them and then gave them as table prizes. A big hit.

Hi, ladies.I'm so pleased with my scarf, and very glad I bought it that night. Besides keeping me toasty warm, I continue to get compliments from friends and strangers alike. I'll be back to get more for my nieces and mother-in-law! Best success in your efforts to enhance lives locally and globally. Happy holidays to you and yours!
